It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome you all to the 77th IFA Congress 2025, taking place in Lisbon between the 5th and the 9th of October.
Lisbon will once again host an IFA Congress, almost 60 years after the first IFA Congress held in Portugal!
IFA Congresses are the most important yearly events in tax matters, gathering experts from around the world and offering them a venue to discuss the latest tax developments.
This year’s Congress will have two exciting Main Topics: “Residence of legal entities for corporate income tax purposes” and the “Improper use of tax treaties from the source state perspective”.
Moreover, and in addition to the IFA signature seminars (IFA/OECD, IFA/EU and recent developments), we will have stimulating discussions focusing on topics such as the role of intermediaries in planning, avoidance and evasion, taxation and ESG, transfer pricing and intra-group services, latest developments in Pillar II, and wealth taxation and tax fairness.
The Congress will be held at the Lisbon Convention Centre, located in one of the most prestigious areas of the city: Belém.
This is also where the President of the Republic has his official residence. So, you will surely be in good company.
And you will just be a couple of steps away from the Tagus river.
You will also find the iconic Jeronimo’s Monastery, the Monument of the Discoveries, the Belém Tower, … and the original shop where “pastéis de Belém” (the Portuguese custard pies) were invented, all nearby!
